Chantry takes full length pieces or excerpts from our repertoire to those who would not usually be able to attend the theatre - for example the elderly and the sick. It is our aim to bring dance into whatever space may be available, and to adapt our performances to non-conventional venues such as care or nursing homes and prisons. We also deliver workshops and participatory dance experiences for this target clientele.

Some of our previous projects include:
  • delivering outdoor performances in 2021 of The Imprisoned Moon to care homes in Grantham and parks in Lincolnshire
  • delivering  a series of projects to care homes and custodial units in 2016, which included performances adapted from our touring work as well as original pieces, creative workshops and Q&A sessions with the residents
  • working with Pimlico Opera in 2014 to choreograph a production of 'Sister Act' for the prisoners at HMP Bronzefield, and in 2015 to choreograph 'Our House' starring Suggs at HMP YOI ISIS.  These were inclusive productions with a cast that consists of professional performers and the prisoners.
  • working in collaboration with Arts NK in 2015 to deliver a contemporary dance performance project to children aged 11-18 in Lincolnshire Secure Unit.
  • working with English Touring Opera in 2014, to choreograph their production of 'Rumbled' - a new opera for children with severe learning needs. This opera toured to schools as well as other venues.
