Dance Anywhere Programme

Chantry Dance takes full length pieces or excerpts from our repertoire to those who cannot easily get to the theatre - for example the elderly and the sick. It is our aim to bring dance into whatever space may be available, and to adapt our performances to non-conventional venues such as care or nursing homes and prisons. We also deliver workshops and participatory dance experiences for this target clientele.

We are also able to create dance for the residents of non-conventional venues.

"Wow! Thank you so much Paul and Rae for the most amazing performance for the pupils and staff at the QMC Hospital School this morning. We were blown away with your professionalism with our sick youngsters and they thoroughly enjoyed being your 'Choreographers'! We are already looking forward to your return in September  :)) Keep up this wonderful work!"

Kathy Harwood, HLTA, QMC Hospital School
Previous Projects Include:

  • delivering  a series of 4 projects to care homes and custodial units in 2016, which include work adapted from our touring work as well as original pieces, creative workshops and Q&A sessions with the residents

  • working with Pimlico Opera in 2014 to choreograph a production of 'Sister Act' for the prisoners at HMP Bronzefield, and in 2015 to choreograph 'Our House' starring Suggs at HMP YOI ISIS.  These were inclusive productions with a cast that consists of professional performers and the prisoners.

  • working in collaboration with Arts NK in 2015 to deliver a contemporary dance performance project to children aged 11-18 in Lincolnshire Secure Unit.

  • creating a delivering a programme of contemporary dance performance and participation for children at Queen's Med Hospital Nottingham in 2015.

  • working with English Touring Opera in 2014, to choreograph their production of 'Rumbled' - a new opera for children with severe learning needs. This opera toured to schools as well as other venues.
