CHANTRY DANCE IS SEEKING A MALE/MALE-INDENTIFYING DANCER
Chantry Dance is seeking a professional male/male-identifying dancer for their autumn tour of ‘Beauty & the Beast – The Guardian of the Forest’
Auditions are by invitation only.
Audition location: Grantham, UK
When: Tuesday May 17th, 10am-2pm
Deadline for applications: 27th April, 12pm
Chantry Dance are offering a contract for a highly skilled and creative professional dancer with vocational training.
‘Beauty & the Beast’ is a contemporary ballet production inspired by the original folk tale re-imagined for a 21st century family audience created by the award-winning producers and choreographers Rae Piper and Paul Chantry.
Applicants should have experience in narrative work, working collaboratively and a desire to work generously within a tight-knit company. Dancers must have excellent partnering technique, classical ballet technique, contemporary technique (especially Graham and Limon based), working creatively, acting and character work. Other skills (non-essential) are aerial, acrobatic work and mask work.
Taking positive action in advertising jobs is permitted under the 2010 UK Equality Act, where a protected characteristic is under-represented in a workplace. Chantry Dance is committed to building an inclusive workforce and society, we welcome applications from all areas of our community, and in particular we actively encourage applications from Black, Asian and those belonging to ethnic groups that are currently under-represented within the Arts.
Dancers living in the East Midlands are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be able to work in the UK and have the required visas/permits in place prior to applying.
Project dates:
Auditions will be held in Grantham on Tuesday 17th May and will be invitation only.
Rehearsals paid at £500 per week. Performances paid at £100 per performance. Accommodation during rehearsals provided. Travel on tour days provided.

Chantry Dance is seeking to appoint a number of new Trustees to join its Board to support the organization embark on its next period of development. Based in Grantham, we are seeking to increase the size of our Board, recruiting suitably experienced individuals from across England who share in our commitment to supporting the development of Chantry Dance as a national dance organisation. Previous experience of serving as a charity trustee is not essential.
