'404 - not found' is an unashamedly romantic, comedic digital fairytale.
Meet smileyface_1
He can be any emoji you like. But he's not real - he's just code.
When Lorna finds Smiley online, he starts to experience more than just data-downloads and html script - he starts to feel.
As in all good fairytales, the lines between reality and digitality start to blur and the Lorna is able to enter Smiley's world where they fall in love. But in a bittersweet twist we learn that the virtual world, is exactly that - virtual - and feelings there are just not real enough for our world.
This 2013 piece is performed through spoken word, mime and dance to lively soundtrack drawn from modern pop.
Concept & Choreography: Rae Piper
Dance Director: Gail Gordon

"(404-not found) was amazing! I loved it - and to my mind a superb amalgamation of a homage to the silent comedy actors of old and the best of Marcel Marceau. His facial expressions!"
